Mindfulness mindset

https://www.pinterest.com/optioneerjm/mindfulness/
Mindful art

The art of mindfulness
Practicing the art of mindfulness is a lot harder than it sounds.  In principle, you are meant to focus on this minute, this second.  Building awareness of all things, people, events happening around you in the moment for the moment.  Discipline and meditation are definitely helpful to reach this art of being at peace with oneself in the universe.  Forgiving, forgetting and forgoing any despondency or regrets, do differently, and if only I had.

Visually, it is easier to center on yourself in the moment.  I've gathered some art to forget bitter memories, beating up one's self for mistakes and least of all removing worry about tomorrow.  All you have is this moment.

You ARE lucky.
You are here, you are now.  What you do differently this very second can bring inner peace and thankfulness for what you have.  No allowances for reflections of moments gone past, or fervour on what you desperately want tomorrow.  All you have is today.

What can you do differently?
Discarding annoyance is a favor you gift to yourself.  Opening up your mind and heart to others that may seem different to you is a gift of mindfulness.

Discover the secret
Let the past melt away.  Forget about goals, dreams, wants, needs.  What do you have in this present moment?  Eyesight to enjoy beautiful images, hands to create beauty, ears to hear melodies that sing to your soul.

Beauty: from within
Is harmony between the heart and the soul, joined in symphony to bring inner peace.  The best thing you can do is listen to your favorite music and gaze upon and marvel at the little things that center you, dissuade you from dwelling on the past or striving for that which is beyond reach.

Deja A-HA moments .... JM Gallery by Jeannette Marshall #bestofeverything

You may want to remember this week's dates for multiple reasons.  If you're a Millennial, this may just become DEJA-aha Moments.  You will tuck this pocket of historical moments, to be easily pulled forward in increments of decades -- 10 years from now, then 20, and so on.

In that envelope of moments, take into account what reaction you have, or what thoughts pop out when you hear someone "older" (those disrespectful types would say "old people" to anyone 10 years older than themselves.  Take and form your own time capsule.  What has caught your attention this week, by the most relevant to your individualism?  Then print off and cut out either images or articles that speak in your own language.

Pull it out on key, defining moments in your life, as determined by you according to the level of importance to your own perspective, believe, point of view.  Perhaps on your graduation night after completing High School, part of your marriage toasts at your wedding.  To pass on to your first born, share with your family at some other event, a wedding anniversary celebration.  These are key times in your life when you will be more reflective.

Check points of life in a way.  Like events that occur, you can instantly recall when, where you were, and who you were with when you first saw the planes crash into the Twin Towers on 9-11.  It happens.  Some more than others.  Perhaps it is the creative types that are more reflective with history.

This week had several significant events that one could say impacted the world.

TRUMPED up fear mongering is widespread.  Even in Canada, our radio talk shows are rehash, re-evaluating the events as they unfolded to what sports fan would call a "major upset" or "Cinderella story" ::.... The triumph of Donald J. Trump was very humble.  His acceptance speech gave me insight to how he does it::... he has the WHOM he shares his true self to:  his family.  That, in my opinion, should be how Americans get a better sense of who the man REALLY is behind the hype, media antics, oh dears and oh mys.  I am going to blog about in my aCommentary blog and then as a leadership example on optioneerjm both of Blogspot by +Google empire.

CANADA rocks again.  Even as the world is being held captive, some of the best side stories on the US Election results was how important Canada truly is to the US.  How Canada is reflected in the world is unique.  I remember living in Germany and travelling around Europe as a tween, how welcoming and receptive  people were when we said we were Canadian.  Humble and low key with a great edge for wit and humor a great credential we can take credit for (especially if you look at some of the greatest entertainers and artists were born here on this soil, Ted Cruz aside).  Between the Tweets by @Mashable that Canada's immigration website crashed upon election results in the United States:  brilliantly timed and very witty and social media super stardom material -- I must try to find out who actually came up with the idea? #Mashable   Even some of the best humor was captured in the celebratory moment we took as proud Canadians.

Hallelujah
Do you remember the first time you heard “Hallelujah?” Was it in Shrek? Maybe on a reality-singing competition show? Maybe you just heard it from a street musician somewhere and thought, “That’s a really nice song.”  READ MORE...

CAFE-a-LOT-eh "Breakfast at Tiffany's" way

Stay with me a little longer.  I want to share the magnificence of the style statements made long ago:  the year of my birth actually:  1961 ... now fading in my 55th year.  Not fading as in lost, gone, or forgotten.  Not erased or muted out as to appear opaque.   Not quite shining either.  But a time of yesteryear when I was too young to understand, since quite frankly, I'd just been born.

As I blogged on optioneerJM and meanderingsABOUT which had originally been written for ThePublisher .... about a career limiting move .... the story behind the story to appear on aCOMMENTary pretty soon......... when I had tweeted to a company, after frustrated to only attract junk when looking for a legal version of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" favoring via my television optikTV provider to be played on our big screen HD-TV (which is what you get when you remarried:  another really big TV).

I ended up buying it.  And Holy Man, am I so glad that I did.  I was shocked beyond belief to discover that I hadn't seen it, or my "sometimers" is really kicking in.   Thank you @Apple and @iTunes for having it available.  Now that I've bought it, I will only admit, I would have paid far past your asking price.  Sorry, the dealio is closed.  Sold.  There are no reverse refunds, where you ask for it back now that you realize you may have a goldmine or pending hit on your hands, only to resell it at a much greater currency (dependent on which country you abode).

The style statements are incredible, therefore, inspired me to look for Holly-like fashion statements or, if forced, create my own on Polyvore ... except this time omitting the posting errors learned from last week or was it the week before when I was madly looking for "Hello, my name is Doris" inspired Halloween garb.  Sometimes to keep the glimmer of an idea, you just have to write and post, see what develops.  If anyone notices.

The advantage I currently have is I own my opinion.  It is my greatest asset, as is the brain the thoughts born of storming through thoughts to settle on cool ideas.  Unlike champagne, it does not fizzle after the POP! of the cork to let the bubbles escape and erupt.

The mystery right now is will anyone read it or look at the synopsis of fashion represented in the era of 1961 ::.... signifying the end of the Baby Boomer generation and great new beginnings, restored optimism, positive progress humanitarian leanings influencing the ever evolving enlightenment and intellect:  The Yuppy.

But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves .... OK?  We're celebrating the fashion depicted in this movie that should be the Holiday present for every female you know.  A coming of age in pictures that epitomized the dawn of movies ::... stories told that would have been leading edge during its final edit and Oscar wins (( I believe there were two, I will have to check and insert answer here before I post).

It's getting quite late here.  I know some are well into their cup of morning coffee by now, sharing in my own favorite pastime that emerged as I would sip my strong, dark roast with an International blend coffee whitener.  Reading, scanning, clicking on oodles of information to my exhausted brain that had churned all night, emptying its contents, ready for more.

I will turn in now and look forward to returning tomorrow.  Morning perhaps.  Even if afternoon, or the PM, a strong dark roasted hot coffee close at hand, these fingers will click and the mouse scurry across the fleeting pages, images, heralding my return, beckoning me to stray off course, distracted beyond original purpose.

That is when it fades.  The idea is replaced by so many others.  So randomly and quickly during our every single day, we burn out a great many brain cells by scanning, sifting, sorting, cleaning through a lot of garbage, to that spark when a great item, story, book, movie is there to be discovered, or re-discovered.  Pull out your own copy of "Breakfast in Tiffany's" or buy it somewhere, to enjoy me along on the ride of celebrating what a great movie is really all about.

People who "FACEus" are #imagineer'ing on @Twitter @Pinterest and +Google

Sunday, October 23, 2016

I have a collection of images that are organized on Pinterest based on themes.  One of my favorites, and agreed to by many based on their robust follow, is my "faceUS" board on Pinterest.

It is always hard to make up one's mind on which ones are the best.  There are so many superb images to choose from.  I'll try my best to share those that also have a link to the photographer/creator.

On JMgallery, I will try my best to showcase talent from around the globe -- all ready to be snapped up for sharing.    I will do what I can to showcase the talent behind the image, with a website link or profile somewhere to credit the artist appropriately and well deserved.

I choose images that are examples of exceptional photography capturing expressions of every day people.

Try including images to any/all of your posts, whether on Twitter or Facebook, it will attract more views that way.  Even if you are commenting on a Facebook post, or thanking someone for mentioning you, be sure to include an image that you think underscores the message.

There you have it.  That's it for today.  Goodness me, I can lose hours upon hours just gazing at awesome photography, art and imagery.

If you know any of the photography or photographers, let them know.  I would really really LIKE to give credit where credit is due.

I am going to continue to wander around the web and social media to scout for the best photos.  There is 500px, Flicker, and so many other photography sharing sites.

If your photograph ends up on this site and you don't want it to be there, just ask me to remove it.  Just so you know, I will be replacing with a box and the words "removed at the request of owner" shown.

All good intentions are not paved with gold.  Nor silver, nor bronze.  More often, it is paved with dust, mud, grime, sweat, tears.

I didn't create this blog to infringe on creative liberties or those trying to make a living, trespassing on any copyright laws, trademarks, logos or brands.  Think of this as a visual box of creativity that I want to share with the world.

Do I have the most sensitive, creative eye for talent and the unique? Probably and most definitely not.  What I am guilty of is a deep rooted, passionate appreciation for art.

When the photographic technical aptitude meets with the most artistic, creative eye ... only the most splendid journey or path evolves.

Awe-inspiring talent abounds on social media and the web.  Under-valued while at the same time OVER-appreciated.  Which equates to not generating the appropriate credit and compensation that should be due these creative imagineer'ng geniuses.

I've just created this HASHTAG:  #imagineer'ing if you want to share art and imagery to the max whereby rewards of appreciation is simply demonstrated by retweeting ( #RT #rt ) or sharing everywhere.

If you want me to know that you have, just fire off a tweet to @optioneerJM so I know and can make sure I follow you back.  A crowd will likely form under the hashtag #imagineer'ing

If you think you've found a secret, powerful imaginative way to communicate visually, let me know.  Heck, I'm just about everywhere as @optioneerJM or +optioneerJM (Google does a great job of allowing people to find me as my pseudonym keeps rising.  Because of popularity?  Heck no.  I know I'm stealing from "the optioneerJM" blog, but sounding like Donald Trump:  my pseudonym has been around since 2010 and I'm talking everywhere.  I was unsure about social media and any association to me from a career perspective, I thought it best to use a pseudonym rather than my personal name.  I'd already remarried so the initials were the same.

To protect my kids, I never reference my name I used to share with them.  Their last names.  I owe them the protection of their identity.  They are adults and adults create their privacy in their own unique way.  Where some people:

  • share everything about themselves in person and online, with little boundaries.  They are not defined as RISK takers.  They are just who they are.
  • reserved and private about themselves everywhere.  You almost need proof that they do have a spouse, children that you appear to have.  But that's about it folks.
  • considered friendly in person, if keeping career and home lives divided.
  • socially gregarious by nature and expressed by social media.
  • stifled and inexpressive,  you create things or like to look at things that are really awe-inspiring
  • appreciates the world from its distinct and unique perspectives.  Understanding, empathetic and caring about the plight of others.  Not always having the means to do it.  Whether financially, timely, or simply stepping outside the comfort zone.
  • uses Medicinal Marijuana to fight the pain.  (boy, I couldn't spell that, so it must mean I don't use it)  The pain of aging, sports injury or health decline.
Some who may know me slightly better than others, may recognize a lot or all of me in those characteristics listed above.  Some may be natural tendencies and instincts left to be discovered.

Others could be curiosity and thirst for knowledge that drives my imagination except when I'm doing what I am suppose to be doing, not distracted, disciplined with the task at hand, completed efficiently and competently so as to be able to return to what I enjoy:  searching for knowledge to bridge my own understanding (whether it be technology, philosophy, education, causes, cultural diversity).

I guess blogging really becomes an outlet of passion, compassion and conscious thoughts.  Perhaps, that is why I have so many diverse ones:  a businessY one, a life one, a musings one, an amusings one and a quest for understanding demographics one.

I'm going to create a MATCH game and return.  To see if you can play along and WIN.  You're already a winner by being here.  Not because of me.  But because you like anything with "gallery" before or after it.  Refined artistically and reaching imaginatively.   Striving to find your path which makes you the happiness in practicing #mindfulness ....:: following me along on my own journey.

Maybe that's why I have so many blogs eh?  I have to be aware of what is happening now.  Let go of what happened yesterday, because you can't rewind it and replay it.  It is done.  Today you can review what you have learned from all life experiences to bring you to this moment.

Patience abounds.  How else can you not fast forward and jump into senseless anxieties about tomorrow because there is so much "now" happening how can you speed through to tomorrow.  You haven't finished with today yet.  This moment has not past, or passed, or replayed.  It is live.

A lot of times when people hear me on the phone, they say that I sound "energetic" today.  I'm sorry that the world has gotten to the point that they sound how they feel:  washed up, washed out, and self-defeating.

Well, back to the purpose of this JMgallery blog:  to share, uplift, inspire, help, assist, motivate, celebrate all the good things there are at the present time.

In fact, you can create your own time stamp.  It can be a combination of writing, or journal ling (huh, no such real english word for "journaling" which I got the red underscore for misspelling.    I hand it over to my friends at Google, who has a riches source of information (which means oodles of data), who provide me with the proper spelling when I right-click.  Which is how that spelling was confirmed.  I like how they also give you the option to "Google" to search the entire web for assistance and pursuit.  I rarely go that far.  Maybe I should eh?

Well, I went on and on a bit longer.  I apologize.  Thank you if you are still here.  BIG THANK YOU.  If you are inspired to Subscribe:  bless you.

If you want me to take a look at something to be featured here, you can comment here or reach out to me in the rest of the stratosphere.  Just remember, you are looking for @optioneerJM or optioneerJM and our friends at Google are pretty efficient at landing you with me.
